ADDING COLOR

Click on an image to open the corresponding blog.  The blog will have a free pattern (if available), video tutorial link (if available), and the written tutorial.

If there is only a video thumbnail, then there is a blog.  Instead there is just a YouTube video tutorial.

I do want to point out that almost all of the tutorials can be done without adding color.

African Daisy

The African daisy artwork is a greeting card I made using watercolor paper.  African Daisy

Butterfly Book

The butterfly book is a very colorful and beginner friendly project.  The pyrography is nothing more than burning dark over the trace lines.  Afterwards is it a matter of adding colored pencils to the artwork.   I also added PearlEx pigment over the colored pencil to give it a metallic sheen.  Butterfly Book

Easter Chick

The Easter chick is a beginner friendly project.  It uses one nib, writer nib, for the entire artwork.  The color I used is chalk pastels.   Easter Chick

Gazania flower

The gazania flower artwork uses colored pencils for color.  The pyrography on this project is developed enough that color isn’t needed, but it does make it pop.  You can easily use different colors.  Gazania Flower

Mandala Dragonfly

The mandala dragonfly is a wonderful project that uses assorted grey hued colored pencils to fill in the background.  Mandala dragonfly.

Maple Leaves

The maple leaves project uses an airbrush to apply color.  I do show a way to colored pencils instead.  maple leaves.

The Winson spray gun is a fun way to add color.  It’s basically a battery powered mini airbrush.  Winson Spray gun

I did a number of projects that merge pyrography and color like these wooden coasters.
